Supporting Local Artists in 195 District Park

In 2024, the 195 District proudly supported over 1,100 independent artists, musicians, makers, and vendors in 195 District Park, creating a vibrant space for creativity and small business growth. Among those is Ryan Dean from Lumuku, a company initially focused on bilingual games. Through the District’s support of his art installations in the park, Ryan has been able to expand his reach and grow his business beyond its original scope, providing art and experiences that can be enjoyed by the whole community.

Another highlight is Buena Gráfica, a local minority-owned design firm that manages the District and District Park’s branding. The multilingual team aims to develop inclusive strategies that strengthen the community through effective communication design. Their work not only enhances the visual identity of the park but also contributes to the success of the artists and entrepreneurs who showcase their talents here. The 195 District partnered with both Lumuku and Buena Gráfica on the largest public art installation to date in the park – the 1,295-foot custom fence scrim around the park pavilion construction site.

The District’s commitment to supporting independent artists and local businesses is at the heart of what makes 195 District Park a thriving cultural hub. For more information on public art in the park, please visit: https://www.195districtpark.com/public-art/ or plan your visit.
